SCHOOL COUNCIL

Our School Council deals with lots of different issues which affect their lives in school. Some of our projects have involved: designing and purchasing new playground bins; taking surveys and liaising with our school cook to influence school lunch choices; coming up with solutions to problems raised by children/staff in school and thinking of/carrying out money raising ideas both to improve the life of children in school and to donate to local charities.

School Council members are represented in all classes in KS2. Pupils put themselves forward and are voted for by the rest of their class. Children from Y2 are selected in January to represent KS1. Pupils in school are aware of their School Council representatives through the wearing of special School Council badges and via our notice board, where we post news/events. Any child/staff member can pass on comments/issues to a School Council member to discuss at our meetings. We hold fortnightly meetings where members can raise any issues they wish to discuss. Minutes are taken and actions decided upon by School Council members and the School Council leader (Miss Connelly).
